The Beginning

The band was originally formed in 2009 for a ‘one off’ set at a tribute concert honouring a friend of two members of the band ‘Lance Corporal Paul Sandford’ who was tragically killed whilst serving with the British Army in Afghanistan. Paul had been at school with Phil and Ben and as part of the concert, the pair wanted to perform in his memory and raise funds for ‘Help For Heroes’ the charity that the event was fundraising for.

Capital FM

The concert was a huge success and before long, the band were working as the official band of Capital FM (East Midlands), the former Trent FM, working closely with breakfast show hosts ‘Emma & Twiggy’! Numerous on-air appearances followed as well as live performances with the likes of Olly Murs, The Wanted, Carl Froch (on Guitar), Chesney Hawkes to name a few.

Raise Your Voice

In 2010, three members of the band were heading to South Africa as part of an aid trip and desperately needed to raises £9,000 for the project they were working from. The band recorded and released a charity single called ‘Raise Your Voice’ for the FIFA World Cup featuring 10,000 local school children as well as players from Nottingham Forest, Nottingham Panthers, Notts County, Notts CCC, Mansfield Town, Nottingham RFC and other local celebrities including Carl Froch, Twiggy and Emma and more…

The song went on to sell over 13,000 copies and raise in excess of £40,000, outselling Robbie Williams’ and Peter Kay’s World Cup song!

Full Time

Having won 2x Radio Academy Awards for their work on Raise Your Voice with Trent FM, the band were in such demand that they decided to go full-time in Summer 2011 as well as a change in drummer, also appointed their current vocalist. Within 6 months of making the decision, the band’s diary was full at least 18months in advance with weddings and private events literally all over the UK and often internationally.

Here & Now

Having been playing over 120 gigs for the last 8 years, in 2018, the band made the decision to ‘Slow Down’ a little and concentrate on the East Midlands Region with only the occasional ‘Distance Gig’. With venues including Hazel Gap Barn, Swancar Farm and various others recommending the band, they retain their title as the most in-demand wedding band in the Midlands if not the entire UK.
